UV & Oxidation Protection
Houston’s intense sun can accelerate oxidation and fading over time. A ceramic coating adds a protective layer that helps reduce UV related damage and keeps your paint looking vibrant longer.
A protective layer that locks in gloss and protects your paint from sun,
water spots, and stains.
Think of a ceramic coating as a second skin for your paint. It's a liquid polymer rich in silicon dioxide, the same compound found in glass, that we apply to your factory finish and allow to cure. As it hardens, it chemically bonds with your clear coat to form a thin, ultra-durable layer. Once bonded, it does three things at the same time: it locks in a deeper, mirror-like gloss; it creates a hydrophobic surface that makes water and dirt slide off instead of sticking; and it shields the paint underneath from UV rays, oxidation, and stains.
It's not a wax. Wax sits on top of paint and washes off in weeks. A ceramic coating bonds to the paint at a molecular level and lasts for years depending on which package you choose
Every package starts with a proper wash, decontamination, and paint prep. We'll walk you through the right tier at your consultation.

Houston’s intense sun can accelerate oxidation and fading over time. A ceramic coating adds a protective layer that helps reduce UV related damage and keeps your paint looking vibrant longer.
The hydrophobic surface helps water, dust, and road grime release more easily instead of clinging tightly to the paint. Your vehicle stays cleaner longer and is easier to wash between Houston drives.
The slick, hydrophobic surface helps prevent dirt and grime from bonding as strongly to the paint. Routine washes become quicker and easier, with less scrubbing needed to maintain a clean, glossy finish.
Ceramic coating delivers the gloss, water repellency, and protection people expect from wax, but lasts significantly longer
Remember how your car looked the day you got it? The coating holds that showroom shine for years, not months.
Tree sap, bug residue, bird droppings, and mineral deposits can stain or etch into unprotected paint. A ceramic coating adds a sacrificial layer over the clear coat, creating a slick, hydrophobic surface that reduces how strongly contaminants bond and makes them easier to remove before they damage the finish.

If your paint has swirl marks, water spots, or oxidation, a ceramic coating will seal those defects in for years. You'll see them every time you walk up to your car.
That's why we always assess your paint before coating. If it needs correction, we do that first a one-stage polish for light defects, a two-stage compound and polish for deeper damage. By the time the coating goes on, the paint underneath looks the way it should.
Here's How It Works.
We inspect your entire vehicle and identify any surface defects that need correcting before the coating goes on. Then we recommend the right package for your car.
Your vehicle is cleaned, decontaminated, and corrected as needed. A coating only looks as good as the paint underneath, so we never skip the prep.
Our trained installers apply the coating by hand in our controlled shop, then walk you through exactly how to care for it so it lasts.
Every coating is applied by a trained, certified technician, never by someone practicing on your vehicle. Our team understands the proper preparation, application process, required layers, curing conditions, and aftercare needed for each coating package.
Ceramic coatings bond best in clean, controlled conditions. Every install happens inside our shop no dust, no contamination, no compromises.
We assess your paint and tell you what tier actually makes sense for your vehicle. If a 2-year coating fits your situation, we won't sell you a 9-year.

Ethan, Daniel and the rest of Chow's Detailing team did a fantastic job getting my new car to look its absolute best. They handled the tint, PPF, & ceramic coating, and the results honestly make the car look even better than the day I took delivery. The workmanship and attention to detail in every service really show how much they care about their customers. I'll definitely be bringing my next vehicle to them. Highly recommend!
Brought my Lexus GX550 to Chow's Detailing for a full black matte paint protection film, ceramic tint, and ceramic coating — and wow, they absolutely killed it! The matte finish looks incredible, super clean and flawless, and the tint + coating really make the whole car pop. The team, both Ethan and Daniel, was awesome to work with — super friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly take a lot of pride in what they do. They walked me through the whole process, kept me updated, and delivered right on time. If you're thinking about getting PPF or ceramic work done, I 100% recommend Chow's Detailing. Worth every penny and the results speak for themselves.
These guys were phenomenal great customer service, high attention to detail, and love what they're doing. They gave me a great price for front PPF, ceramic coating for the rest of the vehicle and interior stain resistant coating. Car came out great both Daniel and Ethan are two young guys building something great. Will be my go-to for future car detailing needs.
The lifespan of a ceramic coating depends on the product applied, how the vehicle is stored, how often it is driven, and how it is washed and maintained. Even in demanding conditions, the coating provides a sacrificial layer that helps protect the clear coat from oxidation, environmental contaminants, and everyday exposure. Proper washing and routine maintenance will help it perform effectively and last as long as possible, giving your paint a much better chance of staying in good condition.
No that's a common misconception. Ceramic coating protects against UV, oxidation, water spots, and chemical stains. For physical protection against rock chips and scratches, you want PPF. Many of our clients install both: PPF on impact zones, ceramic on the rest of the paint.
In most cases, some level of polishing is recommended before applying a ceramic coating. A coating does not hide swirl marks, scratches, or other paint defects, so proper preparation helps ensure the best possible gloss and finish. We inspect your paint during the consultation and recommend the appropriate level of correction based on its condition, age, and your expectations.
No. A ceramic coating does not eliminate the need for washing, but it does make your vehicle much easier to clean and maintain. Its hydrophobic surface helps reduce how strongly dirt, water, and road grime stick to the paint, so washes are typically faster and require less effort. We also recommend an annual maintenance service to inspect the coating, remove bonded contaminants, and help keep it performing properly. Annual maintenance may also be required to maintain warranty coverage.
Not the way wax does. A coating doesn't wash off in weeks it bonds to the paint and stays. Over time it does break down, which is why each package has a lifespan. Proper maintenance is what gets you the full duration.
Yes we do this often. The coating sits on top of the film, adding gloss and easier cleaning while the film handles physical protection. It's one of the best combinations for new vehicles.

Ethan, Daniel and the Chow's team just finished with my '26 E-ray. I was new to PPF and ceramic coating, but Ethan walked me through the products and the process. The finish and enhanced color is unbelievable. I would highly recommend Chow's to anyone wanting to protect their car or truck.
